Structural Engineer

This position is offered to a talented and highly motivated individual who specializes in Structural Design. Must be a synergistic team player and an invaluable resource for Equagen engineers, designers, and clients. We aspire to provide a challenging and inspiring work environment for such a candidate in a position that will require detailed, project-specific designs. The purpose of this role is to provide structural framing and foundation designs for building and ancillary structures. In addition, they will perform site visits, on-site evaluation and provide engineering reports for clients needing field repairs, or structural inspections.

Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to produce construction documents on a multitude of structural engineering related projects including plans, specifications, details, and sections of our building projects
  • Perform site visits for collecting design inputs for structural analysis
  • Perform peer review of structural analysis reports and construction drawings prepared by peer engineers and drafters
  • Prepare foundation and framing plans using AutoCAD/Revit software
  • Perform field visits to assess field issues or provide structural inspections and prepare engineering reports
  • Develop and manage projects with clients Oversee project assignments, deadlines, and meetings
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Review and apply local codes and standards to construction documents
  • Review and apply proper structural design standards and guidelines
  • Ability to coordinate and work with internal architectural resources and MEP consultants
Qualifications

Required: BS in civil engineering from an accredited university

Preferred: Familiarity with design codes ASCE-07, ACI, IRC, IBC, NDS

Professional Certifications:

Required: Engineer Intern (EI) Certification

Experience Preferred: 0-2 years of structural design/construction experience multi family, commercial and industrial buildings.

Working conditions:

This position is occasionally exposed to elevated areas, outside weather conditions; cold, and heat. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. Some weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
